WMHS Senior Earns Prestigious QuestBridge Match Scholarship to Boston College

The Greenburgh Central School District is proud to announce that Giovanni Galimberti, a Woodlands High School Class of 2026 student, has been awarded a full four-year QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship to Boston College.

The QuestBridge Match Scholarship is one of the most competitive college scholarships in the nation, awarded to a select group of high-achieving students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence, leadership, and resilience. Each year, more than 25,000 students apply nationwide, and fewer than 7 percent are selected as Match Scholars, earning admission to top-tier colleges and universities with a full four-year scholarship.

Giovanni’s award covers the entire cost of attendance, including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses. The total value of the scholarship is nearly $400,000, making this an extraordinary achievement and a truly life-changing opportunity.

QuestBridge partners with the nation’s most selective colleges and universities to connect talented students with opportunities that match their academic promise. Scholars are selected based on academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to community and personal growth.

“QuestBridge Scholarship recipients demonstrate an exceptional ability to excel in college and realize their full potential,” said the Woodlands High School Counseling Department. “This distinguished recognition reflects Giovanni’s outstanding academic achievements and his strong potential for future success.”

While attending Boston College, Giovanni, a WHS International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme student, plans to focus his studies in the sciences, with an interest in exploring engineering, computer science, and physics.

“I recognize that receiving the QuestBridge Scholarship is both a personal accomplishment and an incredible opportunity,” said Giovanni. “I’ve always had positive experiences in this district. The staff have been incredibly supportive, and the environment is very uplifting. I credit my coursework with helping me become a critical thinker.”

This honor reflects Giovanni’s dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence, as well as the support of his teachers, counselors, and school community. The district looks forward to all he will accomplish at Boston College and beyond.
